ANGELCAB & Harris Tweed® // Islay

1.549,00 EUR

Made from original Harris Tweed® in the color Islay – a clear, cool blue-grey tone with a gentle mottling. The nuanced structure gives the fabric both depth and calm. The fabric is woven by hand in the traditional way on the Scottish islands, where each roll bears the protected Harris Tweed® seal – a sign of origin, quality and genuine craftsmanship.
Inside, breathable organic cotton poplin in cream creates a pleasant climate, soft and natural at the same time. The seat cushion made of milled merino wool loden comes from the Mehler Brothers cloth factory – one of the oldest textile companies in Europe, which has been synonymous with first-class wool fabrics for generations.
Sliding and safety bars in Midnight – a deep, matt black – calmly frame the materials and form a timeless contrast to the tweed surface.

Most frequently asked questions

WHAT MAKES HARRIS TWEED® SPECIAL?

Harris Tweed® is a globally protected fabric produced exclusively in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland. It is made from 100% pure new wool and woven by hand in traditional looms. Each bale bears a seal of authenticity confirming its origin and quality.

HOW ROBUST IS THE FABRIC IN EVERYDAY USE?

Harris Tweed® is particularly durable and weatherproof – properties that result from the tight weave and natural impregnation of the wool. The fabric was originally developed for the rugged nature of Scotland and is therefore also ideal for everyday use with baby carriages.

ARE THERE TEMPERATURE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THE COLOR VARIANTS?

No – all variants are made of the same wool quality and offer the same thermo-regulating properties. The choice of color is therefore purely aesthetic and has no influence on the interior climate of the car.

HOW DO I CARE FOR HARRIS TWEED®?

The fabric is easy to care for – light soiling can be removed with a damp cloth. For more intensive cleaning, we recommend spot cleaning with a wool cleaner or using an appropriate care product for natural wool.

HOW IS HARRIS TWEED MADE?

Every meter of Harris Tweed is hand-woven on the island of Lewis and Harris. The new wool comes mainly from Scotland, is dyed locally, blended, spun and finally woven by islanders working at home. The result is a natural textile with a lot of personality – durable, breathable and climate-regulating.

SKUN/A

The little story

The story of Harris Tweed® begins where the wind shapes the land – on the Outer Hebrides off the west coast of Scotland. In small weaving houses, often right next to the house, a fabric is created that is more than just a textile: it is an expression of a landscape, a way of life and centuries of craftsmanship. Every meter of Harris Tweed® is made exclusively from pure new wool, dyed, spun and woven by hand – by certified weavers who have often passed on their art for generations. The fabric bears its origin in its name and seal – “Made in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland”. For our special collection, this depth is combined with AngelCab’s standards: natural materials, timeless design and responsible production. The result is an edition that conveys warmth, durability and history in a special way – for first journeys, for lasting memories.
