Pure wool. Nothing synthetic.
MANUFACTURE

Born from the landscape

It begins on the slopes of the Franconian Hesselberg. There, where landscape, seasons and origin can still be felt, one of nature’s most original fibers is created: Bavarian sheep’s wool. For us, wool is more than just a material. It stands for proximity to origin, respect for natural resources and the conviction that genuine quality begins at the source. That is why we source our wool regionally from Bavaria and process it with care until it becomes part of every ANGELCAB wool stroller, creating a material that combines nature, craftsmanship and conviction between pasture and processing. A fiber that has been tried and tested for centuries and has lost none of its relevance to this day.

Wool

What makes wool so extraordinary

Sheep’s wool is one of nature’s most intelligent fibers. Its structure regulates temperature, absorbs moisture and has a natural antibacterial effect. Properties that were not created in a laboratory, but have been perfected over thousands of years. This is precisely why wool is the ideal foundation for a wool stroller – and remains one of the most effective natural fibres available today.

  • 1. antibacterial and low odor The surface of the wool fiber naturally inhibits the growth of bacteria. This results in fewer odors and the material remains pleasantly fresh even after prolonged use.
  • 2. natural temperature regulation Wool reacts to its surroundings. It stores heat when it is cold and releases it when it gets warm. This creates a balanced climate that adapts to changing temperatures.
  • 3. excellent moisture regulation Wool fibers can absorb large amounts of moisture without feeling wet. The fiber transports moisture to the outside and thus ensures a dry and comfortable feeling.
  • 4. dirt and water repellent The natural wool grease lanolin makes it easier for water and dirt to roll off. Many types of dirt can simply be brushed out without the need for extensive cleaning of the material.
  • 5. durable and robust The natural elasticity of the wool fiber makes it particularly hard-wearing. It returns to its original shape even after being stressed and remains stable and functional for many years.
  • 6. sustainable and recyclable Wool is a renewable raw material and completely biodegradable. It grows back every year and can return to the natural cycle at the end of its life cycle.
VALUE ADDITION

Wool from Bavaria

Our wool begins where landscape and agriculture are still closely linked: on the pastures around the Franconian Hesselberg. This is where the Belzner sheep farm carries out traditional transhumance. The flocks move across meadows and hills, tend the landscape and ensure that open spaces, rare plants and natural habitats are preserved. The sheep are sheared once a year. In many regions, what is created in the process is now only considered a by-product. For us, it is the beginning of a valuable raw material. The fresh new wool is collected, sorted and prepared for further processing, from where its journey into the ANGELCAB wool stroller begins just a few kilometers away. The wool is transported to Dinkelsbühl, where it is further processed at Lavalan. This keeps the entire process short, traceable and regionally anchored - from the pasture on the Hesselberg to the next stage of processing.

NATURAL MATERIALS

From raw material to high-performance fiber

After shearing and sorting, the next step begins in Dinkelsbühl. Here at Lavalan, the Bavarian virgin wool is further developed into a modern natural material. In a gentle process, a so-called spunbond is created from the individual fibers - a uniform, stable structure that preserves the natural properties of the wool and at the same time makes it usable for technical applications. This process combines traditional natural material with modern processing. The result is a fiber structure that is light, durable and efficient – perfect for the wool stroller, without losing its natural origin.

FAQ

Your wool questions, answered.

Everything you need to know about our wool stroller and its natural materials.

Why is wool superior to synthetic fibers?

Wool has properties that synthetic fibers can only imitate artificially. Its complex fiber structure regulates temperature and moisture at the same time, remains breathable and adapts to changing conditions. While many synthetic fibers retain heat and moisture, wool ensures a naturally balanced climate.

Does a wool stroller need a rain cover?

Wool has a natural protective layer. The surface of the fiber is water-repellent, so that light rain simply rolls straight off. At the same time, the fiber can absorb moisture without feeling wet. This keeps the material pleasantly dry and balanced even in changing weather conditions.

Is wool easy to keep clean in everyday use?

Thanks to its natural fiber structure, wool absorbs dirt less than many synthetic materials. Many stains remain on the surface and can be easily brushed out after drying. This keeps the material in good condition for a long time without the need for time-consuming cleaning.
There is a particular advantage for stains caused by oily substances - such as sun cream - as residues can usually simply dry and then be brushed out.

How durable is wool?

Wool has an exceptionally high resistance to light and friction. Even with intensive use, the fiber remains stable and retains its properties for many years. Due to this natural longevity, we give a ten-year guarantee on our wool textiles.

Why are natural fibres better for babies than synthetics?

A child's first months are defined by rapid development and heightened sensitivity. The skin, temperature regulation and immune system are still developing. Natural fibers such as wool create a particularly balanced environment during this phase. They regulate heat and moisture in a natural way, remain breathable and adapt to the body. While many synthetic materials retain heat and moisture, wool provides a stable, calm climate - exactly what babies naturally need.
