Born from the landscape
It begins on the slopes of the Franconian Hesselberg. Where landscape, seasons and origin are still palpable, one of nature’s most primal fibers is born: Bavarian sheep’s wool. For us, wool is more than a material. It stands for closeness to origin, respect for natural resources and the conviction that true quality begins at the source. That is why we source our wool regionally from Bavaria and carefully guide it forward until it becomes part of every ANGELCAB wool stroller. Between pasture and processing, a material emerges that unites nature, craft and purpose. This is the foundation for a wool stroller that brings together nature and innovation. A fiber proven over centuries that has lost none of its relevance to this day.

What makes wool so extraordinary
Sheep’s wool is one of nature’s most intelligent fibers. Its structure regulates temperature, absorbs moisture and is naturally antibacterial. Properties that were not created in a laboratory, but perfected over millennia. This is precisely why wool is the ideal foundation for our wool stroller – and one of the highest-performing fibers in the world.
- 1. antibacterial and low odor The surface of the wool fiber naturally inhibits the growth of bacteria. This results in fewer odors and the material remains pleasantly fresh even after prolonged use.
- 2. natural temperature regulation Wool reacts to its surroundings. It stores heat when it is cold and releases it when it gets warm. This creates a balanced climate that adapts to changing temperatures.
- 3. excellent moisture regulation Wool fibers can absorb large amounts of moisture without feeling wet. The fiber transports moisture to the outside and thus ensures a dry and comfortable feeling.
- 4. dirt and water repellent The natural wool grease lanolin makes it easier for water and dirt to roll off. Many types of dirt can simply be brushed out without the need for extensive cleaning of the material.
- 5. durable and robust The natural elasticity of the wool fiber makes it particularly hard-wearing. It returns to its original shape even after being stressed and remains stable and functional for many years.
- 6. sustainable and recyclable Wool is a renewable raw material and completely biodegradable. It grows back every year and can return to the natural cycle at the end of its life cycle.
Wool from Bavaria
Our wool begins where landscape and agriculture are still closely intertwined: on the pastures around the Franconian Hesselberg. Here, the Belzner shepherds practice traditional transhumance. The flocks move across meadows and hills, tending the landscape and ensuring that open spaces, rare plants and natural habitats are preserved. Once a year, the sheep are shorn. What is produced is considered a mere by-product in many regions today. For us, it is the beginning of a valuable raw material. The fresh virgin wool is collected, sorted and prepared for further processing. From there, its journey into the ANGELCAB wool stroller begins – just a few kilometres away. The wool is transported to Dinkelsbühl, where it is further processed by Lavalan. The entire path remains short, traceable and regionally rooted – from the pasture on the Hesselberg to the next stage of processing.

From raw material to high-performance fiber
After shearing and sorting, the next step begins in Dinkelsbühl. Here, Bavarian virgin wool is developed into a modern natural material by Lavalan. In a gentle process, the individual fibers are formed into a spunbond nonwoven – a uniform, stable structure that preserves the natural properties of wool while making them usable for technical applications. This process combines traditional natural material with modern processing. The result is a fiber structure that is lightweight, durable and high-performing – perfect for use in a wool stroller without losing its natural origin.
